Subject:  What a Wonderful Homecoming Weekend!!

I just had to pass along my thanks for a most welcoming and wonderful Homecoming!!  The amount of work and preparation that went into this weekend is truly beyond my comprehension!!  And with the shrinking population of Simpson, it seems miraculous that you pulled off such a diverse and great event!!

It has been 36 years since I lived in Simpson and decades (??) since I have really visited in Simpson but when Mom (Margaret Crawford) mailed me your schedule of events for the weekend, I must admit I was intrigued.  What a wonderful variety of events, displays and something for all ages!

My son loved the peanut drop and he had the most awesome face painter that did an incredible Spiderman for him.  This was the first parade he has ever been to (I'm embarrassed to admit that he is 8 and never seen a parade) and the only fireworks display he has seen was on TV.  He was amazed and astounded, he made fast friends with some of our long lost Simpson kin and I know that it will be a weekend he will remember for a lifetime.  Thank you all for giving him that gift .... and resparking my 'connection' with my roots and family!!!

It's 'the morning after' and I'm still revelling in warm memories of a most wonderful weekend.
