Celebrates 95 in 2006
Friday, June 30th, 2006
- Registration (5:00-8:30 p.m.) at the tent in the sports ground
-adults $5.00
-12 & under free
- Slow pitch tournament begins at 7:00 p.m.
- Beer gardens open at 6:00 in the sports grounds until 1:30 a.m.
- Burgers and smokies will be available beside the registration
tent from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
The village of Simpson and surrounding area
welcomes all past and present residents to our
"Celebrate 95 Weekend!"
Everyone must register and wear their nametags to get into events held
in the sports grounds and rink. All people who return their name-tags
will be eligible for numerous door prizes to be drawn for at the family
dance. Also, handicap parking is available on the south side of the
rink. Enjoy the weekend!

Saturday, July 1st, 2006
- Registration tent opens 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the sports
ground
- Pancake breakfast in the rink from 9:00-10:00 a.m. ($3.00 per
person)
- Parade begins at 11:00 a.m.
- Flag raising, Oh Canada, and anniversary cake at the Legion after
the parade
- Bike decorating contest following the parade at the Legion
- Rink kitchen open 12:30-4:00 p.m..
- Slow pitch tournament resumes at 1:00 p.m.
- Ice cream parlour on rink surface from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
- Beer gardens in rink from 2:00-9:00 p.m.
- Legion hall is open from 1:00-4:00 p.m. (coffee and cookies
available)
- Museum is open from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
- United Church open from 1:00-4:00 p.m. (coffee and cookies
available)
- Peanut drop in sports ground at 3:00 p.m.
- Supper on rink surface at 6:00 p.m. (adults-$8.00) (6 &
under-$5.00) (no advance tickets)
- Cabaret in rink from 9.00 to 1:30 am. ($10.00 per person) (no
minors)

Sunday, July 2nd, 2006
- Registration tent open in the sports ground from 9:00-11:00 a.m.
- Continental breakfast on rink surface from 9:00-10:30 a.m.
- Church service in hall at 11:00 a.m.
- Rink kitchen open from noon-4:00 p.m.
- Beer gardens are open from 1:00-5:00 p.m.
- Ball tournament resumes at 1:00 p.m.
- Museum opens from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
- United Church open from 1:00-4:00 p.m. (coffee and cookies
available)
- Ice cream parlour open from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
- Legion Hall open from 1:00-4:00 p.m. (coffee and cookies
available)
- Kids' games from 2:00-4:00 p.m. (meet on rink ice surface)
- Barbecue on Main Street at 5:30 p.m.
- Variety Show on Main Street at 7:00 p.m. (bring your own lawn
chair)
- Fireworks at dark

Thanks to the many businesses
and individuals who donated door prizes for the raffle hampers and the
family dance. A special thanks to the following local businesses and
organizations for their major financial contributions and sponsorships:
- Affinity Credit Union--Sponsored the pancake breakfast and ice
cream parlour
- Simpson Co-op--supplied the coffee for the weekend and the
burgers for the street dance.
- Agricore United--Sponsored the fireworks and supplied the stakes
for the town lot signs.
- R.M. of Wood Creek--sponsored the registration tent.
- Simpson Homemakers--spent many hours of work in compiling the
"historical picture quilt." Be sure to buy your tickets!
- Village of Simpson--responsible for the signs entering and
exiting the village.
- The family of the late Adolph Kopp and Simpson Homemakers--for
the signs at the cemetery.
Proceeds from "Simpson
Celebrates 95" will help to purchase a commercial riding lawn mower to
be used by the Village of Simpson and the local cemetery committee. Be
